What Are Enhancement Funds?

Enhancement Funds are designed to encourage passionate donors to support the sports program of their choice by providing resources essential to that program’s overall operation (excluding athletics scholarships). While each sport program operates within a base budget, there are often strategic priorities that need additional funding, such as recruiting, strength and conditioning, nutrition, player development, academic support services, facility maintenance and improvement, coaching staff retention, and equipment.

Gifts to Enhancement Funds (excluding Bronco Nation Fund) do not qualify for donor benefits but do count toward the lifetime giving portion of Priority Point calculations and are a way for donors to support the programs they are passionate about above and beyond their Annual Fund contributions. Annual Fund gifts are required for donor benefits including priority seating, priority parking, post-season ticket access, etc.

What is an Endowment Fund?

An endowment gift connects you to Bronco Athletics, our student-athletes, and their education in significant and powerful ways. In fact, your donations help award student-athlete scholarships and support Bronco Athletics in providing elite performance opportunities and supplementing operational costs each year. An academic scholarship is vital to the collegiate experience for a student-athlete, but it is only one component of their full development as competitors and scholars. Many other components are involved in changing the life of a Bronco student-athlete, including services like academic support, sports medicine, athletic performance, performance nutrition, travel, and equipment, all enhance the student-athlete experience.

How Does an Endowment Work?

With the financial expertise of Boise State University behind us, we invest your gift. The principle remains untouched. We use the distribution – like dividends on a mutual fund account – each year to support student-athletes. Investment returns above the distribution rate help value of the endowment increase over time.
